Portfolio Day8 always took place the first week of November - so grade 12’s needed to have 20-40 finished and consistent works that were curated and hung in solo exhibitions around the school in spaces that needed to be transformed, have their website finished, artist statements, the ability to speak clearly and concisely about their work, their introductory video - available on YouTube, business cards, insta accounts, etc - all just 8 weeks into their grade 12 year.

PD raised more than $140 000 000 in initial offers from post-secondary schools for our grade 12’s, with years in which multiple students received more than $2 million individually, and single students receiving as much as $4.1 million in offers.

But it was not about the money. We bonded over doing something ridiculously difficult, at a historically high level. Each year we had grade 12’s as young as 16 participate, speaking clearly and confidently to the dozens of representatives who would visit them during the day.

PD10 saw more than 100 schools and programs from 6 countries and 3 continents send 150 representatives to our school for the day to speak with our students, conversations often lasting as long as an hour. In the evening friends, family, gallery owners, art collectors etc would join us, with a record of 4500 people attending PD9.

Portfolio Day 8 saw our students receive 6 Full Tuition Offers, $17 million in initial offers, with 4 People at $2+/- Million each, and several initial offers of $120000 USD.
